A Passover seder will be held March 25-26 at Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel at 87 Banyan Drive in Hilo. The seder will begin at 6:30 p.m. the first night and at 7 p.m. on the second evening.

Buddhist society offering grants
The Hilo Buddhist Friendship Society (Hoyukai), affiliated with the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, announces availability of two $1,000 scholarships. Scholarships have been awarded annually for more than 60 years.
Upcoming high school graduates who are active members of any Honpa Hongwanji temple on this island are eligible to apply.
Applications can be obtained from every temple office/minister or online at www.hilobetsuin.org. Students may attend any accredited college or university in the United States.
Complete applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 19.

Buddhist women issue scholarships
The Hawaii Island United Hongwanji Buddhist Women’s Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior active with the Honpa Hongwanji on the island of Hawaii. The deadline to submit the application is Monday, April 15.

Honomu service for Palm Sunday
A Palm Sunday service will be held at 10 a.m. at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ at 28-1630 Old Mamalahoa Highway in Honomu.
Celebrate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem at the church just off Highway 19 at the 13-mile marker. Pastor Linda Petrucelli will officiate.
